The Chicago Portrait Project (Ongoing Series)

I am Quentin, a Chicago-based artist who graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I earned my MFA in Fiber and Material Studies in 2020.

2025 marks my tenth year of living and practicing art in Chicago. Over time, my art practice has gradually shifted-from the city itself to the people who inhabit it.

The Chicago Portrait Project focuses on the people of Chicago, the ones I pass by in everyday life. Their clothing, posture, and subtle expressions form the true texture of this city.

They are part of Chicago, and now part of my work; in many ways, they are also witnesses to my own presence here.
